HOW TO CLEAN POOLS WITH ALGAE GROWTH
- Shock the pool using chlorine (Calcium Hypochlorite / Chlorine Granules)
- Use 4x the regular amount of chlorine or use more if you want the algae to be gone faster
- Make sure pump and filter are turned on
- Turn on pump to disperse the chlorine in the pool
- Turn on filter to filter out the dead algae
- Brush the walls and the bottom of the pool
- Algae films may form on the walls and on the bottom of the pool, so make sure to clean them using a brush (Hayward Pool Brush)
- Wait for 24 hours and check if the pool is clear
HOW TO MAINTAIN POOLS
- Check the chlorine and pH level using a pool test kit (Pool & Spa 3-Way Test Kit)
- If chlorine level is above ideal:
- Add water
- or
- Wait for the chlorine level to go down
- If chlorine level is below ideal:
- Add chlorine (Calcium Hypochlorite / Chlorine Granules)
- If pH level is above ideal:
- Add Dry Acid HCT
- If pH level is below ideal:
- Add water
- or
- Add Soda Ash
- Warning: adding soda ash may make your pool look cloudy
- Check the chlorine and pH level again to make sure they are ideal
- Add Pool Algaecide HCT to prevent future algae growth

NOTES:
- Our advice is to test the pool every day and adjust to correct levels to prevent algae growth
- Make sure pump is turned on so the chemicals are dispersed
- Make sure chemicals are completely dissolved in the pool before testing or before adding another chemical
- Dissolve chemicals in a bucket first, then place in pool, so you can test after 20 - 30 min only
- or
- Place chemicals directly to the pool and wait until the chemicals are completely dissolved and test after 4 hours
